What is a Duty Holder?

Under Regulations 3 (Absolute) of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, it is the Duty of every employee while at work to comply with the provisions of the regulations in so far as they relate to matters which are within their control.

Who is responsible for the compliance services?

The Duty Holder is responsible for ensuring the building is safe and making sure that everything is compliant. A Duty Holder may be an employer, director or manager who has control, the necessary resources and authority to make the right decisions for the safety of the building and people within it. The Duty Holder is also responsible for checking when the electrical equipment and installation is needed and contacting a qualified professional engineer to complete the testing.

How much does it cost for each service?

We cannot give a set price for our services as all services differ in price depending on the number of appliances and circuits for example, within your establishment.

What will you do with my details that are stored from downloading the sample reports of the services?

Your details are stored on our system for potential contacts to enquire if you are interested in our services. These details will not be passed on to third party details, they will be kept confidential.

Do I get a report after the testing or a certificate?

You will be given a detailed report after the testing has been completed, this will provide you with the tasks that have been completed and any remedial work to be considered. These reports will be sent to you in 10 working today from the job completion. All clients can access their reports through our secure online report system Securview. This allows you to electronically view your reports anywhere with internet connection to save on the amount of paper used to do our part of the environment.

Can I access my reports from the testing undertaken online?

Yes, if you click on the website page called Securview you can access our bespoke reporting system where you can view the reports anywhere with internet connection and on any device. This can only be accessed after the job has been done when you have been provided with your own log in details.

How do I know if there needs to be any follow up testing to previous tests?

The report you receive will detail any potential threats and the severity of this will be coded with the recommended action to be taken. If the tests prove dangerous on the site the day the engineers are present, they will try to complete the work there and then, depending on the severity. Remedial work that is not severe may have to be rescheduled. The engineers will advise you on the day.

After everything has been confirmed and all necessary corrective work has taken place you will receive a certificate which states that you have passed the service.

In terms of your next inspection, you will be contacted by a member of the sales team to make you aware that you need to book another inspection. We are able to do this from your client details being saved securely on our system.

Are the engineers competent to complete the services?

All our staff are fully trained and have gained qualifications to complete their job roles to be highest standard. Due to the variety of industries our engineer’s work in, all our engineers have been DBS checked. This provides you with peace of mind that all inspections will be successful and that occupants are safe.
